Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels Description:
Known as THE Super Mario Bros. 2 in Japan, it did not originally make the jump over to North America because of its extreme difficulty. This game added some twists to some levels that were not seen in Super Mario Bros., one of those being the poison mushroom, and at times Mario and Luigi would encounter winds that would either allow them to jump insanely long gaps or severely hamper their jumps.
The Japanese SMB2 would eventually see the North American audience, when it was packaged in Super Mario All Stars ("SMB: The Lost Levels", 1993, SNES) and Super Mario Bros. DX. ("SMB For Super Players", 1999, GBC)
